A long time ago (1995 to be exact) our founder Dan Harrington was a Loan Officer who had been originating loans for
5 years, was burned out. Every month was the same old grind: chasing deals, get them closed, rinse and repeat. He knew
life would be much better if he was getting more referrals and more repeat business. The problem was how could he get
those repeat and refer deals?
The answer hit him one night: he needed to stay connected with his closed clients so they would remember to refer
him and come back when they needed a mortgage. Also, he needed to give his Realtors information they could use to help
them sell homes, so they’d think of him when referring buyers.
Dan armed himself with a fax machine (!) and a canned direct mail newsletter to clients. It worked and other
LO’s noticed. And Usherpa was born.
Now Usherpa is armed with the industry’s most sophisticated, cloud-based CRM/Marketing Automation system. We call

Here’s a true story from a long-time Usherpa member.
This is why we do what we do:
On a Mortgage Company’s President's Club trip, a Loan Officer slipped by the pool landing on the back of his head. He
was unconscious for about 20 minutes, when he woke up, he felt fine. Turns out he wasn’t. In fact, he almost died
and spent an entire year in the hospital.
The crazy thing is he made the President's Club again, while flat on his back in the hospital. How? He had built
great relationships, had a great assistant, and his marketing was personalized and automatic. His Realtors and Customers
had no idea he was even sick. They continued to get great service from his assistant and targeted, personalized
marketing from Usherpa.
