USHERPA’S EVOLUTION

A long time ago (1995 to be exact) our founder Dan Harrington was a Loan Officer who had been originating loans for 5 years, was burned out. Every month was the same old grind: chasing deals, get them closed, rinse and repeat. He knew life would be much better if he was getting more referrals and more repeat business. The problem was how could he get those repeat and refer deals?

The answer hit him one night: he needed to stay connected with his closed clients so they would remember to refer him and come back when they needed a mortgage. Also, he needed to give his Realtors information they could use to help them sell homes, so they’d think of him when referring buyers.

Dan armed himself with a fax machine (!) and a canned direct mail newsletter to clients. It worked and other LO’s noticed. And Usherpa was born.

​Now Usherpa is armed with the industry’s most sophisticated, cloud-based CRM/Marketing Automation system. We call it Relationship Engagement and we’ve helped thousands of Loan Officers stay connected with partners and clients. These LO’s have helped hundreds of thousands of borrowers fulfill their dreams of homeownership.

Dan Harrington is CEO and Co-Founder of Usherpa, a Customer Relationship Management / Relationship Engagement Platform that empowers mortgage lending and real estate professionals with intuitive automated marketing, engagement tools and customized content. He has more than 25 years of experience in integrated fintech relationship management, developing state-of-the-art CRM platforms combined with automated content marketing services.

In 1995, Dan developed the Media Center (now Usherpa), building upon eight years’ experience as a Realtor and five years as a Loan Officer at CTX Mortgage Company. He held the title of Senior Vice President of Marketing from 2004 until 2008 when he took Usherpa private.

Dan continues to lead pioneering development in state-of-the-art sales and marketing programs at the forefront of the mortgage industry.

Chris Harrington is President and Co-Founder of Usherpa, a Customer Relationship Management / Relationship Engagement Platform that empowers real estate and mortgage lending professionals with intuitive automated marketing, engagement tools and customized content.

Chris manages day-to-day operations, human resource, and finance functions of the company. Chris started in the mortgage industry in 1991 and stepped into the role of Vice President of Marketing for CTX Mortgage in 2004. In 2008, she joined Dan in taking the Media Center private and has helped build Usherpa into the premier CRM system for loan officers dedicated to referral-based selling. She has more than 25 years of experience in high-tech real estate and mortgage relationship management, developing state-of-the-art CRM platforms combined with automated content marketing services.

Here’s a true story from a long-time Usherpa member.

This is why we do what we do:

​On a Mortgage Company’s President’s Club trip, a Loan Officer slipped by the pool landing on the back of his head. He was unconscious for about 20 minutes, when he woke up, he felt fine. Turns out he wasn’t. In fact, he almost died and spent an entire year in the hospital.

The crazy thing is he made the President’s Club again, while flat on his back in the hospital. How? He had built great relationships, had a great assistant, and his marketing was personalized and automatic. His Realtors and Customers had no idea he was even sick. They continued to get great service from his assistant and targeted, personalized marketing from Usherpa.
